MG School of the Soldier update:
Fort Mifflin is confirmed for our SOS on Saturday June 19
I was surprised to find that only Saturday night is available for our people to stay overnight, no Friday. To accommodate the long distance travelers, we will move the starting time back to 11:00 AM on Saturday, and run through 5:00 PM. Both the heated barracks with new cots, and the period correct casemates are open for Saturday overnight guests. Anyone who would sleep in the casemates need to bring their own wood for a fire.
There is a fee for keeping the Fort open to us Saturday so I need to get a count of those planning to stay –
figure on $15 a head to cover that cost. The medical building will be open for our use.
Soldiers need to bring lunch for themselves; overnighters can also bring dinner, or change clothes and
go out – but MG doesn’t provide bail for Philly precincts.
